How To Find Suppliers On Alibaba For Your Online Business?

Posted: 26 Apr 2020 09:58 AM PDT

This article will provide a comprehensive guide to finding a supplier in Alibaba, to manufacture your items at your private labeling for Amazon FBA and Shopify dropshipping. In addition, I'm going to give you a template that you can use when you're contacting suppliers and give you tips on how to contact them effectively.

Whilst I'm going to  teach you how to sort through the  manufacturers and find ones that  manufacture the products that you're  looking to sell, unfortunately, there  isn't some magical process that you can  follow to pick the best one – you're  simply going to have to email quite a few.
You should go to the home page of Alibaba and type in the product that you're looking for; I'm going to use vitamin pills as my example

when I click search what Alibaba is going to do is it's going to show me all of the different listings with the product  listings for vitamin pills and some of  these will inevitably be bottles
But a  lot of time they will actually be vitamin pills. There are a lot of them, so obviously I can't contact all of these suppliers, in fact, there are thirteen thousand four hundred and seventy-three products listed below, so obviously I cannot contact them all, so I'm going to have to filter the results down even further.
It's important to note that there's not actually thirteen thousand four hundred and seventy-three different products listed, because of the fact that suppliers will  oftentimes post multiple listings for  the same item, so what we need to do is  come and filter the results to show suppliers

Now we've gone from over thirteen thousand to six hundred and seventy-four, which is a lot better, but we still need to filter these results down even more.
Come and click on gold supplier:

This isn't a great filter, because most suppliers choose to upgrade to gold because it's still really cheap, but here you can see we're  down to six hundred and twenty-six suppliers

From here, if you've got too  many suppliers like I do here to have a  manageable amount to go through and contact, what I would suggest that you do  is you go, and you click on the assists  supplier tab now only do this if you've  got if you have too many to manage like  this one here because not many suppliers  become assist:

but if you've got hundreds of suppliers listed for your item, this is a good solution for narrowing the results down even further. Now we're down to 50 suppliers:

which is a lot more manageable. From here, what you're going to do is you're going to contact at least 20 of these different suppliers and then see what they respond with, and that's it – it's honestly that simple.
Unfortunately, though, as I see it, there isn't a magical formula that you can follow to vet good companies from supplier companies on Alibaba. You're simply going to have to do that yourself through communicating with them.
To do that, you're going to have to send an introductory email I've included a template that you can use in this article to give you even more information. I'm going to go through each section of the template and explain to you why I have included it.

In this first section, you are aiming to create authority, even if you are a single seller who is just starting out –  you'll get more apples if you look like you are a bigger business with employees, that is why you email as though you are ripped for a business and act as though you have someone in a higher position of authority for you.
In the section I make a claim about my sales, how you feel about doing this is up to you. If you want the highest response rates going to be doing at least 1 million dollars in sales, even if you aren't, if your moral compass doesn't let you do this, then you can remove the section.
Be sure to stress that you want to create a profitable partnership and that you want it to be long term as this is very important for Chinese manufacturers.

In this section outline what you want to purchase including the specifications, such as the size, color and other things like that – don't mention minimum order quantity this is a red flag for a lot of these suppliers, and it indicates that you don't have much money, which decreases the chances that they will work with you.

In this section, we ask important questions that we need answers to. Asking questions also has the added benefit of helping us separate suppliers that are good at communicating and those that aren't.
We ask questions about samples because getting a sample is crucial. Once you identify a shortlist of suppliers that match your budget and that communicate  the best, you'll be picking which supply  to work with usually off of the quality  of your sample product.
In terms of packaging, it's not usually crucial what type of packaging you use; different suppliers will have their own preferences. For example, if you were manufacturing supplements, different suppliers would have different types of bottles that they would prefer to use.
There are also questions in here about the final order; we are asking for details on how long manufacturing will take and the product per unit including air express because when it comes to private labeling for your first product, it's best to pick one that has good profit margins with air shipping included, as it'll be easier and faster to restock and manage your inventory. The zip code that I've included in this email is the zip code for an Amazon FBA warehouse in Arizona.
Once they reply to your email on this with the cost per unit, you can reply and let them know how many you want based on your budget, you can negotiate with them, and you'll need to be realistic that the smaller the quantity order, the higher the cost per unit.
In this email, I've also asked that PayPal be the form of payment for both the sample and the order, some companies will be put off by this, and they will only want to work with bank transfers this is okay, and it does not in any way indicate that they are a scammy business. From their perspective, large corporations who are they prefer business partners never use  PayPal, they only use bank transfers as they are more cost-effective since  PayPal has percentage-based fees, however as a new private label FBA a seller, I  recommend you stick to PayPal at first as it gives you a bit of buyer protection. If something goes wrong, you have a chance of getting your money back if you use a bank wire transfer, your money is basically gone forever, and you need to trust them to follow through.

The final section here, I asked them to reply. Skype works best; if they can add you on skype, then you can have all of your questions answered in one single conversation and have them ship you a product sample that will hopefully arrive in less than a week.
If they don't communicate with  Skype and rely on emails in you might be going back and forth for like ten plus emails, an alternative is also to ask them to set up a phone conversation, which can be a great way to establish if they are a legitimate business.
In this section, I've also asked about doing a  sample order, the reason for this is that as you are new, you only want to do a  small order, manufacturers are sometimes put off smaller quantity orders below  1000 because I'd rather work with big businesses. By calling it a sample order, you increase the chances that they'll take a smaller order quantity from you.
Once they've worked successfully with you, they'll be keen to keep working with you even with smaller order quantities.
You can impact your supplier based on the responses that you've received and the quality of the sample product. Here are three tips for picking your supplier and Alibaba.

#1 do not judge a supplier based on the Alibaba response rate

A lot of people are understandably put off suppliers that have a response rate that is below 80% because, of course, good communication and speedy responses are very important for business. The thing, though, is that the Alibaba response rate is based upon how fast they respond to your messages using the Alibaba messaging system and not through email and Skype. In fact, some suppliers will give you a quick one-sentence reply using the Alibaba messaging system and then sends you a link to the email just so that they can improve the Alibaba response rate.
Don't be put off this either the key is to see how quickly they respond to your emails and Skype messages.

#2 Manufacturers vetting your business should be avoided

Throughout this process, we'll try to make our business look as big and professional as possible to increase the chances that companies are going to want to work with us. Some manufacturers, though, are more selective, and they'll only work with companies that are going to buy and big order quantities, such as Walmart. If a manufacturer replies and they focus on your business and try to ask you questions about that rather than focusing on the order, then I would recommend that you avoid that manufacturer. The chances are they are reading your business to see if it is a small business or a big business, and they are not going to work with you anyway, so just cut your losses and move on to the next one.

#3 it is okay to work directly with the sales rep rather than with the company

In another article I made which gives tips on importing items from China, I mentioned that you should avoid working with a middleman because usually the prices that they will charge you are more than working with the company directly. This is often sound advice, as often times sales individuals are people that are working for multiple companies giving you inflated prices as they are getting a commission cut from the sale. But occasionally, this isn't true, sometimes a sales rep will have a pre-existing relationship with the supplier, and they'll be able to negotiate lower prices than you could have if you had been working with them directly.
If they speak better English than the internal staff at the company, then they can act as a communicator for you. To maximize your profit potential, treat everybody equally in the vetting process. If a middleman offers you a better price and they are a better communicator, then it doesn't matter that they are not with the company directly.

3 Different Ways Someone Can Track Your IP Address

Posted: 25 Apr 2020 09:12 AM PDT

track ip address
You must have seen advertisements and clickbait articles like "The 5 Secrets to Wealth Near You" that reference your current location. It might be New York, London, or in the middle of nowhere, they always know where you are. How is that?
Advertisers can do this by tracking your IP address. They're not the only ones who have access to it. Hackers, governments, internet service providers (ISPs), and just about anybody can learn your IP address. It puts your privacy and security at risk.
Here are the three different ways someone can track your IP address and what you can do to stop them.

What is an IP Address?

An IP address is a unique set of numbers that identifies every device connected to the internet. It's the primary way that computers, servers, and everything else online communicates and exchanges data with each other.
IP addresses reveal a lot of information about users, including:
  • Approximate location
  • Internet service provider
But that's not all. It's easy enough for cybercriminals and ISPs to piece together your IP address and track your internet activity.

IP Tracking Method 1: Standard Connection

All websites identify your IP address when you connect to them. They refer to it as a handshake. The process works through JavaScript code on the site. This code is essential for website analytics, which helps site owners understand how much traffic they get each month.
It is 100% legal and normal. Site owners have to maintain compliance and not do anything illegal with this information. But you never know who may operate a site or if hackers have taken over it.

IP Tracking Method 2: Use Command Prompt

This method is a little more technical but not difficult at all. Using a Windows device, you can open the command prompt. Then, on the DOS Screen, type "ping website address" and hit enter. The IP address will appear below.
For example, you could find Google by inputting "ping www.google.com:"
Pinging www.google.com [216.58.194.68] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 216.58.194.68: bytes=32 time=63ms TTL=57
People have used a similar technique to find the IP address of people on Facebook too. In this case, they used the "NetStat" command.
  1. Invite the person to chat
  2. Open command prompt
  3. Once a chat has begun, enter the command "netstat —an" and you can see the IP address of all established connections.
Of course, it's not that easy to discover someone's IP address from Facebook anymore. The platform had enough privacy scandals as it is. But many sites still have weak security and can be exposing your IP address (and more).

IP Tracking Method 3. Check the Email Header

You can also find someone's IP address in the email header. Most clients like Gmail clip this out of standard view to show you the sender's name and the message.
Click on the reply button and scroll down to "show original." A new window pops up with the IP address of the sender located below the subject line.

How to Protect Your IP Address

These three techniques are only the beginning. There are other ways to discover IP addresses, including dedicated IP address lookup tools. As wonderful as the internet is, it can be a scary place. You never know who could use an IP address against you and for what purposes.
Advertising is bad enough, but what if a hacker finds a way to track your online browsing by tracing your IP address. For your privacy and security, you need to conceal your IP address.
The easiest and most secure way to do it is by using a VPN. What is a VPN? A VPN or virtual private network (https://nordvpn.com/what-is-a-vpn/) anonymizes your IP address. It connects your device to a secure third-party server, which then connects to your target web destination. The website will see the server's IP address instead of yours.
At the same time, a VPN uses advanced encryption to make sure nobody can track what you do online. If someone does manage to intercept your data, it's available only in the unreadable form.
VPNs are super easy to use too. You don't have to have any technical expertise to take advantage of their fantastic security benefits. After you download one, leave it enabled anytime you connect to the internet. Then you can rest assured knowing your data is safe.

How Do I Start a Business Selling CBD Gummies?

Posted: 22 Apr 2020 09:27 AM PDT

How Do I Start a Business Selling CBD Gummies?
All over the United States, the CBD market is gaining momentum. People take products like Verma Farms CBD gummies for pain, relaxation, and general wellness. Now is the time to jump on the wagon and profit from this new, rapidly advancing industry. Keep reading for some advice on how to get started.

Know Your CBD

The CBD market can be a confusing place, even if you have experience with the hemp or cannabis industry. You need to know your stuff if you intend to effectively promote your products, build relationships with your customers, and navigate the evolving legal landscape.
With the death of clear and accessible information surrounding the CBD industry, people are seeking knowledgeable retailers and vendors, so do your research and become an expert. When you know everything there is to know about the CBD brands you sell, you will be able to more effectively market your products.

Different CBD Formulas

CBD Isolate Some people are wary of exposure to THC, and some are hesitant to try CBD because they are regularly tested for drugs at work. Isolating CBD in the extraction process removes all traces of THC and keeps customers safe when they must submit to their next screening.
Full Spectrum CBD While some are concerned about failing a drug test, others would like a little more oomph to their CBD experience. For these people, full-spectrum CBD is the answer. This formula makes use of all cannabinoids in the hemp plant, of which there are dozens. THC is one cannabinoid, but because the hemp-derived CBD contains 0.3 percent or less, you do not need to worry about intoxication.
Broad Spectrum CBD Broad-spectrum CBD is the happy medium between the other two ends. The distillation process for broad-spectrum aims to keep all the cannabinoids intact, except for THC.
The problem with this concept is that tiny amounts of THC will cling to the other cannabinoids, resulting in the inability to entirely remove it. As a consequence, broad-spectrum CBD often still contains nearly untraceable amounts of THC, but levels are still lower than with full-spectrum CBD.

Find a Supplier

Once you know what you are looking for in your CBD gummies and other products, you need to find a good supplier. Go through a supplier you trust and can develop a relationship with. The quality of your product is a top priority.

Major Quality Markers

Certificate of Analysis Your supplier should make it easy to access the certificate of analysis for all the CBD products it manufactures. The COA contains results of third-party lab testing, which is now a requirement for all CBD products sold online.
Testing confirms the purity and potency of the product, and your customers will feel confident in their purchases when they can easily find that information.
Organic The hemp plant is a bioaccumulator, which means that it will absorb everything in its environment. Protect your customers from harmful pesticides, fertilizers, and heavy metals, by making sure the hemp for your products was organically and sustainably grown in clean soil, and irrigated with clean fresh water.
Domestically Grown Some brands cut corners by using hemp grown in countries outside the US for their extracts. This is dangerous because other countries may not have the same agricultural regulations as the United States.
Hemp grown in other countries may be cheaper to obtain, but it is not necessarily grown in ideal conditions, which exposes consumers to potentially dangerous chemicals.

Get Your Website Up and Running

When getting your CBD business off the ground, you may consider giving sales on Amazon or eBay a try. This would be a good idea except that they do not allow CBD to be sold on their sites.
You need to get a website up and running in order to get your products in front of customers. Then you can sell your CBD oils, gummies, and other products without worry about your products getting taken down.

ECommerce Tips

You Need Your Own eCommerce Store Since you cannot sell your CBD on aggregate sites, you are going to need your own eCommerce store. Due to the fluctuating legality, some platforms will not work with CBD brands. There are a few, however, that will be the right fit for you, and they may even have a division that specializes in sales for the hemp and cannabis industries.
Find Your Audience Who do you want to reach out to with your brand? Athletes? Executives? Young adults? Aging adults? The possibilities are endless since nearly everyone is a potential customer for CBD. Figure out who your audience is, what they like, and then push hard to create a brand that caters to them.

Create TONS of Organic Content

The major challenge in marketing your CBD products is that there are so many restrictions. The evolving laws make it difficult to keep up, but as of right now paid advertisements for CBD gummies and oils are banned on Google, Facebook, Instagram, and all other major channels of marketing.

Cater to Your Audience

SEO Content The best way to combat the fact that you cannot pay to push your ads in front of any consumers, is to create so much SEO content that your website shows up on the first page of any search your audience does related to your product. Is your audience made up of athletes? Fill your content full of subject matter related to performance and recovery. Executives? Focus on productivity and relaxation.
Keep It Informative and Interesting You want your audience to actually read what you put out and click your links. Just filling your content with keywords and forgetting about substance will not get you anywhere. If you do the research to become an expert in your market, you will have plenty to write about.

Final Thoughts

While entering the CBD market may seem intimidating, it can be an enjoyable, profitable venture. Enjoy the journey!

How to Use a Competitor Analysis To Increase Your Blogs Popularity?

How to Use a Competitor Analysis To Increase Your Blogs Popularity
Search engine optimization does not happen in a vacuum. Much like in a traditional business setting, you need to take your competition into consideration when evaluating ways you can improve your blog and get more traffic. This article will give you some tips and tricks for how to perform a SWOT analysis, use the information to drive visitors to your blog, and get yourself on that coveted first page—maybe even in the top spot—on the search results.

Perform a SWOT Analysis on Your Own Blog

Before you start diving into what your competitors are doing, make sure you have taken an objective look at your own blog. A SWOT analysis (evaluating strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) will give you a solid understanding of your blog's baseline status.
Strengths
What do people like about your blog? Which content is getting the most engagement or longest read time? What are the most popular pages or articles?
Weaknesses
Which pages or articles don't have any activity? Are there any sections that contain errors or inaccurate information? Is everything presented in a readable format?
Opportunities
What kinds of content do your followers want to see more of? Is there a subject that you could expand more on? Is there a related subject you haven't addressed?
Threats
Is there a lack of new information about your blog's subject? New regulations? Is there anything that may color public opinion of your blog?
Ask people whose opinions you respect and trust for some input on the answers to these questions, and take a look at this list of SWOT questions from SCORE to see if there are other questions you could adapt for your blog's SWOT analysis.
Items in your SWOT analysis may change as you see what others are doing. For example you may notice another blog taking advantage of an opportunity you didn't see before. That's okay. You can always revise your SWOT later, but it is important to have that initial impression before your competition colors your view.

Determine Who Your Competitors Are

There may be a bazillion other blogs on the same subject matter that your blog covers, but they are not all direct competitors. Let's say you run a Southern recipes blog geared toward families, for example. Your direct competitors are not going to be all Southern recipes blogs, and they also will not be all family cooking blogs. Narrow it down to blogs that target the same audiences and offer the same kind of content in order to save yourself a lot of headache.
You also want to make sure you are not comparing yourself to blogs that are not on the same scale as yours. If you are just getting started, you cannot compare your blog to Paula Deen's blog. Someday, maybe. But for now, stick to blogs that are more comparable to your own in status. Otherwise it is like trying to compare a small independent grocer to Walmart.

What Kind of Content Do They Use?

Evaluate how often your competition posts, the quality of their posts, the accuracy and the readability. Is their writing clear and concise? Does it contain spelling or grammatical errors? Do they use a lot of infographics, videos, or other unconventional formats that seem to be working for them? Is there a format their blog is missing? How are they making use of keywords? Are there any that you may have missed in your strategy?
Use this information to find ways you can fill in the gaps that their blog leaves. Maybe you could start creating more listicles, how-tos, or even video content. Use their content to inspire ways to make your content better and more comprehensive than theirs. This is one way your SWOT analysis will come in handy because it will help you figure out what you already do better than the competition, which leads to opportunities.

Find Out Who Links to Your Competitors

Comprehensive tools like ahrefs can be used to do a deep dive into evaluating your competitors, and you can use them to find out valuable information like who links to your competitor's content and where those links can be found. This information can help you figure out which sites to approach to link to your content as well. You can approach different sites that are similar, or the same site to offer them better or complementary content.

Do A SWOT Analysis on Your Competitors

A SWOT analysis is a great way to really understand all the ways you can stand out from the competition. Out of their weaknesses, what are your strengths? What do they do well that you would like to emulate? Where are there opportunities to define your blog as the authority? Where might they pull attention away from your blog?
Evaluating your competition in this way gives you a wealth of insight into your own blog. Putting everything into a framework like this will help you recognize opportunities to expand your audience and improve your content, boosting your blog in the search engine rankings, and driving more traffic to your site.
